Needles and yarn ready for the last row.

Binding off is the row that decides how the edge behaves.

The standard bind-off

Knit two stitches. Lift the first over the second and off the needle. Knit one more; repeat until one stitch remains, then pull the tail through.

Keep it stretchy

Bind off on a needle one size up, or work the stretchy variant for necklines and cuffs. The edge should give as much as the fabric under it.
